Amazon Seller Beware

As many of you know I have been selling magazines on Amazon for many years. I have been a member and participated in the seller forum both seeking advice and offering advice to fellow sellers. Over this time many sellers have posted that their account has been deactivated, sometimes for good reason and sometimes not. Recently many sellers posted that they had received the following email informing them that their account had been deactivated:

Until all the required information is verified, your funds are on hold in accordance with section 3 of the “Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions Agreement”. On March the 15th I received the same message. I won’t bore you with all of the details but, I have uploaded documentation from HMRC that gives all of the required information such as UTR Number, Name, Address, Business Name and Address but this has not been accepted and Amazon asked for more information in the message below

Hello

We sent you a request for documentation earlier today. Your Amazon seller account has been deactivated and your listings are no longer active in accordance with section 3 of the “Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions Agreement”. Funds will not be transferred to you even if they reflect in your Seller Central account.

Why did I receive this message?
Your account does not meet the requirements of the “Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions Agreement”:
How do I address this issue?
–Within 14 days, confirm what the name “xxx ” stands for and the relationship between “xxx ” and your account. You can email this information to us: (email address removed) – xxx being my three character business name.

Below is my reply:

Hello,
Previously you asked for documentation and I uploaded a document from HMRC. xxx is the name I have registered with HMRC for tax purposes as a sole trader, this is clearly stated on the letter from HMRC.

xxx doesn’t stand for anything, it was chosen from my late parents initials.

I would like to add that Amazon are accusing me of fraud which is a very serious allegation. All of my business and tax affairs are legal and in order as the documentation I have previously uploaded confirms.

After selling on Amazon for approximately ten years and being treated like dirt by this shoddy company I have decided to call it a day. No am I willing to make money for Amazon who earn more that I do from each sale and be Amazon’s slave. No longer am I willing to jump through hoops like a trained dog. No longer am I willing to put up with a company who’s support staff are incomprehensible. No longer am I willing to fret about taking a holiday or even just a day off. No longer am I willing to worry about what to do if I should fall ill or need to go to hospital for a routine procedure, which thankfully I don’t at this moment in time.

No Longer will I have to suffer lying, thieving scammers such as sad Ryan Sankey who has nothing better to do in his life than try and get his porn for free. No Longer will I have to put up with customers such as G. Morgan sending such messages

As Amazon was my main platform for sales I took the decision to clear my stocks and call it a day. Since taking this step I feel much happier and healthier. Thankfully magazine sales is not and was not my main source of income as I have many other business projects.

My advice to those who are thinking of selling on Amazon is don’t, and if you do, certainly don’t invest or take out a loan to purchase stock. Don’t rely solely on Amazon for your income because if you do you’ll find yourself with no income at all. Hopefully one day Amazon will be held to account for the way it treats its sellers.

You have been warned.

Choose any four of the above magazines for just £10
Delivery is free to UK postcodes when you purchase a £10 pack
stock is limited so once they’ve gone they’ve gone forever at these prices
Though you could be a mug and purchase them elsewhere or on
Amazon at much higher prices, probably two or three times as much.
